In case you need another reason to indulge this summer, July is National Ice Cream Month!  Celebrate this creamy treat with some sweet reads at the library!

Want to learn about the history of America’s favorite dessert?  Amy Ettinger’s ode to all things ice cream, Sweet Spot: An Ice Cream Binge Across America takes readers on a tasty tour of the country’s best ice creams shops and brands.  It’s your patriotic duty to check it out!

Travel to Italy in The Ice-Cream Makers.  This novel by Ernest van der Kwast takes readers behind the scenes of a family’s ice cream empire.  You’ll be charmed and entertained as the Talamini clan concoct desserts so sweet you’ll risk a cavity!

Go back to the turn of the century in Susan Jane Gilman’s novel, The Ice Cream Queen of Orchard Street.  It’s the story of a Russian immigrant and her travels across America in an ice cream truck.

Grab a Dilly Bar and settle in for the story of Catherine Grace Cline in Looking for Salvation at the Dairy Queen: a Novel.  Susan Gregg Gilmore introduces readers to a southern belle who contemplates life and all things family in her town’s hot spot, a Dairy Queen.

Want to create your own sweet sensations?  Jan Hedh’s book The Ultimate Guide to Homemade Ice Cream has you covered!  There are over 300 recipes for ice cream, sundaes, sorbets, and cakes.  There is something for every sweet tooth.
