05 Apr National Library Week 2016
National Library Week will be celebrated April 10-16, 2016. This year’s national theme is “Libraries Transform.” National Library Week was first observed in 1958 as a week to celebrate the contributions of libraries, librarians and library workers nationwide, to promote library use and support, and to encourage people to rediscover the wealth of resources to be found within libraries. During the week, National Library Workers Day is also celebrated (Tuesday, April 12) as a way to recognize library staff, users, administrators and Friends groups for all their contributions.
Here at the Hamilton East Public Library, we want to celebrate this week by celebrating you, our patrons!
- Find out why your community loves their library and how the library has “transformed” their lives. You’ll have a chance to share your reasons as well! These reasons will be displayed in each building and some shared across our social media pages.
- As you’re browsing through the library or our social media channels, you might find some interesting factoids about the library you never knew! These factoids could come in handy when you visit our Facebook page and compete for a chance to win!
- As always, we’ll have great events for kids, teens and adults through-out the week.
